Precision Engineered Products LLC is expanding its plastics machining capabilities with the acquisition of Connecticut Plastics of Wallingford, Conn.
Connecticut Plastics will continue to operate under its brand name at its present location. Terms of the deal were not announced.
According to PEP marketing manager Jennifer Linell, key management members are expected to stay on and will allow for a smooth transition. She said CP has been in business for 30 years, and has about 40 employees at its 23,000-square-foot Wallingford facility.
PEP is based in Attleboro, Mass., employs about 1,000 and has 11 manufacturing sites. It operates under eight brand names.
PEP President and CEO John Manzi said in a statement that the addition of Connecticut Plastics and its machining expertise will blend in with its MicroPep and Lacey brands, which offer plastic injection molding and micro molding. He also said that PEP can provide multiple options for CP customers.
Connecticut Plastics specializes in challenging applications including production of burr-free surfaces for the electronics and medical industries. It also works with life science, aerospace and instrumentation and control companies.
Precision Engineered Products offers finished devices and assemblies, precision stampings, electrical contacts, clad and specialty metals, precision plated parts and surface finishing as well as injection molding. It started in 1980. |
