Nordson Corp. of Westlake, Ohio, said it has broken ground on a 115,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Loveland, Colo., to meet what it called “growing demand in medical end markets” for its Value Plastics brand of plastic-molded fluid management components.
The Loveland plant also will provide “flexibility and capacity for continued long-term growth,” Nordson said in a news release.
“We continue to see outstanding global growth opportunities for innovative components, devices and custom OEM solutions related to precision fluid management and delivery of biomaterials,” said George Porter, Nordson vice president and general manager for medical product lines, in the release.
He said plans call for a plant with “full clean room molding, assembly, packaging and inventory storage capabilities.” Full operations at the plant are expected to start in the first half of 2015.
Nordson’s current Value Plastics operation is in a leased facility in Fort Collins, Colo., and employs about 90 people.
Porter said Nordson was “unable to find an existing facility or site in [Fort Collins] fully suitable for our expansion needs. The nearby Loveland location allows us to stay in the same general region with access to many amenities and a highly talented work force.”
Nordson is a maker of automated dispensing equipment. |
